Judicial Section

Since the beginnings of the judicial system, one of the main responsibilities of the Sheriff and his Office has been to ensure the smooth operation and safety of the courts. This is accomplished by providing security throughout the court system, as well as service of "process" or legal papers, such as:

  • Writs of Execution
  • Attachments
  • Criminal Summonses
  • Body Attachments
  • Subpoenas for Civil and Criminal Court Appearances

A large part of the duties described above are handled by the Sheriff's Office Judicial Section. The Judicial Section of the Sheriff's Office falls under the Special Operations Division.

Members of the Judicial Section include deputies and civilian personnel assigned to provide security to Circuit Court, as well as civilian process servers and deputies assigned to Child Support Enforcement.
